‚When we were Exhaling images‘ takes a different approach to space and examines the way of horizontal living. It was inspired by a refugee‘s story during the 1990s.
The nest pipe focuses on the social/scientic transformation of an existing typology into a living space. In contrast to just staying in a room, living in one is determinated by the personal indentification with it. Establishing a space with furniture is what people traditionally do. When you observe the behavior of other mammals in terms of how they embrace a space, it is clear that building a nest became a symbol for exactly this transformation. The nest should be seen as a provocative picture to discuss what we actually need to identify ourselves with a room.
